Rally History

One of 3 Falcon GT’s prepared for the 1968 London to Sydney Marathon. This car (registration KAG001) was driven by Harry Firth, Gary Chapman and Graham Hoinville.

They finished 8th outright and the 3 ford Falcons won the teams prize. This car also competed in the 1993 London to Sydney Marathon

Recent History

Tod Reed purchased the car in 2001, a year after he and father Brian Reed stated rallying. This car has competed in all the Modern Alpine Rallies since 2001 and will do it’s 10th Alpine later this year.

For 2017 Tod’s eldest son Lochlan navigated at age 15 and will again this year. This car has won the Historic Category outright on several occasions.

This car also placed 10th outright in the 2008 Red Centre to Gold Coast Rally, winning the Historic class.

KAG001 has had some loving attention in the last 18 months as there was never any refurbishment done to the paint or panels in the last 20 years. Tod sourced or replicated all the decals as it wore in the 1968 event.

Tod is very conscious not to alter the vehicle too much beyond general repairs, save for a change in seats and harnesses to comply with modern standards and the addition of a Terratrip (navigation aid) and the fitment of an intercom system.
