Rally History

This Datsun 1600 has been professionally built by Nisco 1600 Workshop. The build was completed in 2003

Internal Cabin and Boot modification includes extensive aluminium storage spare cases with long range fuel cell.

The storage  space this allows the crew to have  a certain amount of self sufficiency  on long distance events.

Essential emergency spares are carried in the car as some stages can 600km between service points.

The bodywork colour scheme  is based on the 1970 East Africa Rally car winner, a Datsun 1600 car driven by the legendary driver Edgar Herrmann, the 2 time East African Safari winner.

It has competed in  many  Club , State and National events  but its true pedigree belongs in classic events such as  Alpine rallies, Classic Outback Challenges and any other iconic  classic rally events.

Its most significant rally entry to date was the 2013 Sydney to London Marathon Rally where it achieved a respectable 9th outright and 3rd in class finish.

2021 will see this car compete in the Peking to Paris rally.
